FOR BEGINNERS AND NOT ONLY: HOW TO FIND A JOB IN IT?
Work in IT has always been considered interesting, prestigious and profitable. Looking for a job today is quite difficult, especially for those who do it for the first time or change their field of activity. One of the most effective ways to find career opportunities is through job fairs, which allow candidates to choose their dream job on their own, and companies to increase the number of interviews for open positions.
The other day, the Conference and IT job fair from the European Association for Software Engineering EASE took place in the Parkovaya Exhibition and Convention Centre. Graduates of technical universities, experienced professionals and those who are considering the possibility of changing their field of activity got acquainted with the best Ukrainian and international IT companies.
Two zones worked within the framework of the event: an exhibition zone with stands of IT companies and a conference zone. More than 800 visitors had the opportunity to learn about open vacancies, pass a trial interview with HR managers, immerse themselves in networking and useful contacts with like-minded people. Visitors who wanted to improve their level of knowledge and motivation listened to the speeches of the most competent speakers – top managers and founders of IT companies.
— The struggle for highly qualified specialists has become more intense. Companies use a variety of options to find candidates: job search sites, social media, peer referrals, and employer branding. Thanks to participation in the conference and job fair, IT companies improve the company’s HR brand, present themselves in front of an audience of potential candidates and increase the company’s loyalty. This allows them to hire new employees faster and better and retain current ones,” comments Vladislav Savchenko, President of the European Association for Software Engineering EASE
Lyubov Mochalova, CEO of the European Software Engineering Association, says that the fair in Kyiv is already the second large-scale event that the team has organized since the start of the war in Ukraine:
— The EASE Association Temporary Job Search Platform Format is a project that allows you to learn more about the culture of successful interviews, get to know the best companies and expand your job search opportunities in the IT field. Even in such a difficult time for the country, the industry continues to develop and replenish its teams with new specialists. We carried out this format before the war and plan to continue to implement it where it is safe and in demand.
The main topics of the conference were doing business in new realities, working with clients and partners, and supporting the team. We also analyzed how career goals and selection criteria help in finding a job, how to study the market and what not to forget at an interview. Founders and top managers of IT companies shared their expertise and cases:
- Ruslan Yumagulov, VYMEX
- Andrey Chapkov, CheckEye
- Yaroslav Komarenko, AllSTARSIT
- Ekaterina Andrushko, Quarks
- Vladislav Savchenko, European Software Engineering Association
